The children at Marwood have created a powerful display of decorated stones on the War Memorial at Christ Church based on the words of the song ‘Let there be peace on Earth… and let it begin with me.’ Archbishop Stephen Cotterill and Canon Peverell have also decorated a stone each in support.

We would love you to add your decorated stone to the display – you could add a word, message or simply a self portrait. Together, we can make a difference. It takes just one person to change the world!

]]> Wed, 13 Mar 2024 11:21:41 GMT https://www.marwoodschool.org/news/?pid=8&nid=1&storyid=2 <![CDATA[ Archbishop's Visit ]]> https://www.marwoodschool.org/news/?pid=8&nid=1&storyid=3 We were delighted to welcome the Archbishop of York and other special guests to our school this morning to launch our Action for Peace initiative.  The Archbishop joined us in collective worship and then spent some time in each classroom and with the Trinity Group.  Our worship was around the theme of "Let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me".  Children then undertook a number of activities, including painting their version of themselves onto stones which we hope to use to start a path of peace that the community can also contribute to.  All present painted their 'me', including the Archbishop.
